A Florida state attorney submitted a report on a two-and-a-half month investigation of allegations of sexual harassment and sexual misconduct by a number of Lakeland police officers.
A female civilian analyst claims that she was subjected to a sexually hostile work environment that included numerous sexual encounters with ten current or former male police officers.
Most of the sexual encounters were described as consensual, but the woman claims that she was also pressured into having sex with some of the police officers out of fear that she would face retaliation if she refused.
The woman alleges that she told some other police department employees about the alleged harassment and asked them for help but that none of them reported her allegations to their bosses.
The employee claims that she finally came forward because “she feels like she has been victimized, sexually harassed, and taken advantage of” and that she “wants something to be done about” the alleged sexual harassment.
