Hostile work environment lawsuit filed against University of Pacific Dental Clinic

A female former employee at the University of Pacific Dental Care Clinic has filed a sexual harassment and retaliation lawsuit against her former boss at the Stockton, California university.

Jessica Ortega claims that she was subjected to a sexually hostile work environment by her boss, Dr. Howard Chi, and then fired in retaliation for complaining about the sexual harassment.

Ortega alleges that Chi made unwanted sexual comments to her and in front of her coworkers and that she and a number of other female employees complained to the university’s HR office.

According to Ortega, the university did not take any actions to stop the alleged hostile work environment. After she complained, the workloads of Ortega and the other complainants increased and Ortega’s performance reviews went from being very positive to negative.
