UMD fires fitness director Rod Raymond for violating multiple university policies

Rod Raymond, a Duluth businessman who also worked as fitness director at the University of Minnesota Duluth, was fired by the university on April 25th.

UMD released a statement saying that Raymond was fired for multiple violations of University’s policies, including inappropriate sexual conduct with a UMD student on University premises and during work hours, untruthfulness during an Office of Equal Opportunity Investigation, and a violation of the administrative policy on managing nepotism and personal relationships.

Raymond was placed on unpaid leave last year while UMD investigated two complaints against him, and in 2009, Raymond was required to attend a sexual harassment workshop after two female students filed complaints against him.
