A former IndyCar mechanic has filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Sarah Fisher Hartman Racing.
The mechanic, Scotty Merryman, claims that he was subjected to a sexually hostile work environment and sexually harassed by a male coworker.
Merryman alleges that the coworker inquired about his sex life, taunted him about his sex life, and, on one occasion, “approached Merryman from behind, unzipped his pants, and tapped the back of Merryman’s head with his penis” in front of five other crew members.
Merryman claims that the other crew members laughed at the incident as he told them to never do anything like that again.
According to the complaint, Merryman complained to company management and was then fired in retaliation for having complained about the sexual harassment.
