Alleged hostile work environment leads to Alabama city clerk resignation

An Alabama city clerk announced her resignation to the city council, explaining that she is resigning because of a “discriminatory and hostile working environment.”

Cindy Vines Pritchett resigned as clerk of the city of Dora after filing a formal complaint with the city council on May 3, 2013.

According to her complaint, she was harassed by the mayor and was subjected to gender discrimination on a daily basis.

Pritchett also claims that the hostile work environment caused extreme stress and led to a deterioration in her health that included a recent hospitalization for high blood pressure.
