Florida elementary school principal retires after hostile work environment investigation

Jacqueline Feagin, the principal of Golfview Elementary in Rockledge, Florida, retired after an internal ethics investigation found that she created an intimidating and hostile work environment for her employees.

The investigation also found that Feagin had her secretary do personal tasks for her while at work. Both of these actions are considered violations of the school district’s policies.

The district offered Feagin the option of retiring or being transferred to an administrative position. Feagin decided to retire, and March 31 was her last day as principal of Golfview Elementary School.

The teachers at this school seem like nice enough people but I have to say that the office staff are some of the most bitter, juvenile, and rude people I have ever come into contact with. I once asked the office staff why the school was on lock down when I was trying to pick up my son after school and they ignored me! It is my BUSINESS as the PARENT of MY child to know what is going on with him and to watch out for him! Don’t you DARE act like I am a nuissance when I am inquiring of the well being of my CHILD! FIRE THESE PEOPLE…..PLEASE!!
