Cal-Maine Foods sued for racial and sexual harassment

The EEOC has filed a racial and sexual harassment and retaliation lawsuit against Cal-Maine Foods, Inc.

According to the EEOC, a bad boss at the Cal-Maine Foods facility in Waelder, Texas subjected an African-American to a hostile work environment and then retaliated against him when he complained about the harassment to company officials.

The EEOC alleges that the boss frequently used the “N” word, racial slurs, and told racial jokes. This boss also allegedly sexually harassed his employee by inappropriately touching his buttocks and legs.

Cal-Maine management allegedly knew about the harassment but did not take action to try to stop the harassment.

After the employee complained about the harassment, he was allegedly subjected to an even more hostile work environment by company managers.

The employee claims that he was fired in retaliation after filing a harassment complaint with the EEOC.

EEOC attorney Patrick Connor said, “This employee just wanted to come to work and do his job. There is no excuse for the prevalent use of racial slurs and sexual mistreatment by supervisors and co-workers.”
