Sexual harassment lawsuit filed against State Theatre in New Brunswick

Tracy Bell, a former executive assistant at the State Theatre in New Brunswick, has filed a lawsuit accusing CEO Mark Jones of sexual harassment, gender and disability discrimination, and retaliation.

Bell claims that Jones made several inappropriate sexual comments and jokes beginning in March 2012 and that he also made comments about his sexual activity.

Bell injured her leg in October 2012 and required ongoing treatment after work hours. According to the complaint, Bell informed Jones that she needed to leave on time for the treatments but Jones allegedly made her work late on those days.

Bell was fired on February 13, 2013 shortly after filing a complaint about Jones with the company human resources manager.

Jones released a statement saying, “We believe that the case against the State Theatre is completely without merit. We fully intend to defend ourselves against the matter, and we are confident that we will prevail.”
