Nick’s Patio to pay $26,000 to settle EEOC pregnancy discrimination lawsuit

Nick’s Patio, a restaurant located in South Bend, Indiana, has agreed to pay $26,000 to two women to settle an EEOC pregnancy discrimination lawsuit.

One of the women, Tiffany Williams, is a former Nick’s Patio employee who claims that her working hours were immediatedly reduced in August 2010 after she told her bosses that she was pregnant.

The EEOC alleges that Williams was then fired in January 2011 because of her pregnancy.

The other plaintiff in the EEOC pregnancy discrimination lawsuit is Tammy King, who claims that she was not hired by Nick’s Patio in October 2010 because she disclosed during the job interview that she was pregnant.
