4 hostile work environment lawsuits filed against Jackson State University

A total of four hostile work environment lawsuits have been filed against Jackson State University, JSU President Carolyn Myers, and Athletics Director Vivian Fuller.

The original lawsuit was filed by Lolita Ward, a former secretary at JSU who claims that she was subjected to sexual harassment by Fuller.

Ward alleges that Fuller created a hostile work environment and then fired Ward after Ward rejected Fuller’s sexual advances.

The three other lawsuits were filed by former JSU employees who say they witnessed the sexual harassment. These former employees claim they were subjected to a hostile work environment by Fuller and then fired in retaliation for reporting the alleged harassment to university officials or participating in an EEOC investigation of the allegations.

Jackson State University denies the allegations.
