Employee accuses Richmond Assistant City Manager of workplace bullying

Richmond Assistant City Manager Leslie Knight has been accused of workplace bullying by a number of her employees.

One employee, Stacie Plummer, claims that Knight subjected her to a hostile work environment in retaliation for having blown the whistle and publicly accusing Knight of violating several city policies.

Plummer prompted an independent investigation of Knight after she distributed a 59-page complaint about Knight to top city officials and county, state, and federal investigators.

Plummer’s complaint accused Knight of using a city vehicle while also receiving a monthly car allowance of $450 and of misusing city employees and equipment for her trinket business.

The investigation found that Knight broke at least four city policies. The District Attorney’s office is still investigating the allegations of misappropriation of funds, embezzlement and grand theft.
