Winona State University dean fired for sexual harassment complaints

Bill Murphy, the dean of Winona State University’s College of Business, has been fired for allegedly subjecting a number of students to sexual harassment.

Several male students accused Murphy of engaging them in inappropriate sexually related conversations and in asking to take inappropriate photographs of the students.

The university investigated the students’ complaints, and Murphy was terminated in September 2012. The University only recently published the details of the complaints and investigation due to Minnesota privacy laws.
