Flint Community Schools to pay $600,000 to settle Northwestern High sexual harassment lawsuit

Flint Community Schools will pay $600,000 to a Northwestern High School teacher to settle a sexual harassment lawsuit that she filed against the district.

Teacher Kelly Caudell claims that former Northwestern High School Principal Fred White subjected her to a hostile work environment after she ended a sexual relationship with White.

Caudell alleges that White forced her into a sexual relationship by threatening to fire her if she refused.

After Caudell eventually ended the relationship, White allegedly continued to harass her until she tried to commit suicide in November 2011.

Caudell, who remains employed at Northwestern High School, is still on sick leave following her suicide attempt. White retired in 2011.
