Vicksburg Mayor Paul Winfield sexual harassment lawsuit trial delayed

The U.S. District Court in Jackson has delayed the trial date for the Vicksburg Mayor Paul Winfield sexual harassment lawsuit. The trial had been set to begin on August 5th.

In the lawsuit, Kenya Burks claims that Winfield subjected her to retaliation and a hostile work environment after she ended an alleged consensual affair with the mayor.

According to Burks, who worked as the mayor’s chief of staff at the time, Winfield continued to make unwanted sexual advances towards Burks and was physically abusive towards her.

Winfield has denied Burks’ allegations that they engaged in a sexual relationship.
