Social Security Administration employee was told his excessive flatulence created a hostile work environment

The Social Security Administration issued an official reprimand letter to an employee at its Baltimore-area office who suffered from an excessive flatulence problem.

The SSA letter, issued in December, informed the employee that his frequent farting created a “hostile work environment” for his coworkers and that his superiors considered his flatulence to be “conduct unbecoming of a federal employee.”

The Social Security Administration has since rescinded the reprimand letter.
