Philadelphia Police Department sexual harassment complaint

Jerrold Bates, the former Philadelphia Police Department Internal Affairs Staff Inspector, was removed from his position after a former employee filed a sexual harassment complaint with the EEOC.

The employee, Keisha Johnson, accused Bates of coercing her into a sexual relationship during work hours as a condition to keep her job with an 8 to 4 shift and without having to work on the weekends.

Bates, who oversaw the Philadelphia Police Department’s EEO unit, allegedly told Johnson that she could be replaced if she did not agree to have sex with him.
