Two Miami-Dade Schools Police officers have filed sexual harassment lawsuits against the county.
Officers Deanna Fox-Williams and Yewande Gibson claim that they were sexually harassed by Police Chief Charles Hurley. The women also allege that they were retaliated against for complaining about the sexual harassment.
According to the complaint, Hurley invited Gibson to his home, where “Hurley grabbed Plaintiff around the torso, forced his tongue in Plaintiff’s mouth, unzipped his trousers and forced Plaintiff’s hand onto his penis, all before Plaintiff was able to break away and flee from the house.”
The school board reassigned Hurley after the women filed complaints with the EEOC.
