UMDNJ $4.65 million sex discrimination lawsuit settlement

The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey has agreed to pay $4.65 million to ten female professors to settle a sex discrimination lawsuit that they had filed against the university.

The women who filed the sex discrimination lawsuit claim that male professors were paid more than their female counterparts.

Neil Mullin, an attorney for the 10 women, said, “This is a really big victory for the women faculty members at UMDNJ. UMDNJ has been treating them as second class citizens for as far back as records go.”
