Middletown Police Department gender discrimination lawsuit

Colleen Edwards, a former Middletown police officer, has filed a federal gender discrimination and retaliation lawsuit against the city, its mayor, and a number of police supervisors, including the police chief.

Edwards claims that she was subjected to ongoing acts of harassment by Sgt. Essam Khalil. After she filed a discrimination complaint with the EEOC, Edwards alleges that Chief Ramon Bethencourt and lieutenants Greg Metakes and John Ewanciw retaliated against her by disciplining and then firing her.
