Houston Police Department retaliation lawsuit

A federal jury has awarded Houston Police Department patrolman Christopher Zamora $378,000 in a retaliation lawsuit that Zamora had filed against the department.

Zamora claims that he was subjected to retaliation after his father, who was also a HPD officer, filed a discrimination lawsuit against the Houston Police Department.

Zamora’s father was one of approximately 30 Hispanic police officers who filed a discrimination lawsuit against the HPD.
