Philadelphia Police Department sexual harassment lawsuits

Multiple complaints of discrimination, sexual harassment, and retaliation have been made against bosses in the Philadelphia Police Department during the past few years.

Capt. Anthony Washington has been accused of sexual harassment and discrimination by at least four police officers. To date, the city of Philadelphia has paid $75,000 to settle two sexual harassment lawsuits.

In another lawsuit, Sgt. John Massi claims that Washington harassed and threatened him on a regular basis.

In 2008, police officer Christa Hayburn accused Inspector Carl Holmes of sexually assaulting her. The city has paid $109,500 to settle three lawsuits against Holmes during his 22-year career with the Philadelphia Police Department.

Internal Affairs is currently investigating Holmes for alleged inappropriate behavior with a female subordinate.
