New Haven Police Department $20,000 sex discrimination lawsuit

The city of New Haven has agreed to pay $20,000 to police officer Jodianne Novella to settle a sex discrimination lawsuit that she filed against the city.

Novella claimed that she was retaliated against after filing a sexual harassment complaint. She alleged that her then-boss Lt. John Velleca and others ostracized her from the police unit and degraded her.

Connecticut attorney Thomas W. Bucci from the law firm Willinger & Bucci, P.C. represented Novella in her sex discrimination lawsuit against the city of New Haven.
