A jury awarded Denton County prosecutor Nadiya Williams-Boldware $510,000 in a race discrimination lawsuit that she filed against the county.
Williams-Boldware claimed that she was denied promotions and was subjected to a hostile work environment because of her race. According to the complaint, coworker Cary Piel made a racial comment in front of Williams-Boldware, and her boss, Susan Piel, did not protect her from hearing the comment.
Texas attorney Bill Trantham represented Williams-Boldware in her race discrimination lawsuit against Denton County.
