Jury awards victims $350,000 in Dr. Mark Noar and Martin Virga sexual harassment lawsuit

The EEOC announced that a federal jury awarded $350,000 in compensatory and punitive damages to three former employees of Endoscopic Microsurgery Associates, who were subjected to sexual harassment by CEO Dr. Mark Noar and CFO Martin Virga.

According to the EEOC lawsuit, Linda Luz, a receptionist for Endoscopic Microsurgery Associates, was repeatedly subjected to unwanted sexual advances and a sexually hostile work environment by Noar and Virga.

After Luz repeatedly rejected the advances, the Baltimore medical practice began retaliating against her by and eventually fired her. Study coordinator Jacqueline Huskins similarly experienced unwanted sexual advances from Noar and Virga, as did nurse Kimberly Hutchinson from Noar.
