Judge orders Henry’s Turkey Service to pay $1.3 million to disabled workers

A federal judge has ruled that Henry’s Turkey Service must pay $1.3 million for exploiting mentally disabled people who worked at the company’s Iowa meat-processing plant.

Henry’s Turkey Service had been accused of paying hundreds of disabled workers as little as 41 cents an hour in what the EEOC called a cycle of “perpetual poverty and dependency.”
