Multiple discrimination lawsuits filed against Glendale Police Department

At least eight police officers filed discrimination lawsuits against the Glendale Police Department last year.

In August 2010, Police Lt. Susan Hayn filed a sex discrimination lawsuit after allegedly being subjected to discrimination and a hostile work environment.  Police department officers and Glendale city officials named in the complaint include City Manager Jim Starbird and former Glendale Police Chief Randy Adams.

In May 2010, Glendale police officers filed two separate lawsuits against the Glendale Police Department.  Officers Tyrone Hunter and Marc Mendoza claim that they were subjected to race discrimination.

In January 2010, Sgt. Vahak Mardikian, Sgt. Tigran Topadzhikyan, Officers John Balian and Robert Parseghian, and former Officer Benny Simonzad sued after allegedly being subjected to racial harassment and discrimination over several years.
