Discrimination complaints filed against Ingham County Road Commission

After several discrimination complaints were filed against the Ingham County Road Commission, the board members voted to appoint two new members to replace Joe Guenther and Tom Mitchell.

There are currently two open discrimination complaints, alleging race and age discrimination, that the Michigan Department of Civil Rights is investigating.  Since 2005 two discrimination complaints that had been filed were closed because of “insufficient evidence.”

According to the Lansing State Journal, “County Commissioner Debbie De Leon, D-Lansing, said the road commission has problems with racial bias, cronyism, nepotism and a general “good ol’ boys” culture that creates a hostile work environment for some of the road commission’s 70 employees.”

  2. Surprisingly enough haven’t seen any complaints submitted over at my blog, usually people love to chime in about this sort of thing, especially something devisive like discrimination.
