Schenectady School District pays $250,000 to settle Steven Raucci hostile work environment lawsuit

In the aftermath of the Steven Raucci trial, the Schenectady School District has agreed to pay $250,000 to settle the first of several hostile work environment and sexual harassment lawsuits that were filed by current and former employees, including Ronald Kriss, Deborah and Harold Gray, Barbara Tidball and James “Dan” Bacchus.

In April 2010, Raucci was found guilty of 18 counts, including weapons offenses, conspiracy, and arson that were related to attacks and harassment that Raucci perpetrated against his former employees and their families while he was the Schenectady School District’s facilities director.  Raucci was sentenced to 23 years to live in prison for committing these crimes.
