Jury awards plaintiff $314,000 in Chemical Lime Co racial discrimination and retaliation lawsuit

A jury has awarded Albert Thomas $314,000 after deciding that Thomas was fired in retaliation after he filed an EEOC race discrimination complaint against his employer, Chemical Lime Company.

According to the Shelby County Reporter, “Thomas alleged that in the summer of 2008 he found white rags made to look like Ku Klux Klan hoods. He alleged his supervisor held up one of the hoods and made inappropriate comments a gestures.”
