2 Houston strip bars settle EEOC age discrimination lawsuit

Two Houston-based strip bars agreed to pay $60,000 to settle the age discrimination lawsuit that was filed by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on behalf of Mary Bassi, a former waitress.

Bassi, who was 56 when she was fired from her job at Cover Girls, claims that two male bosses harassed her because of her age.  According to the EEOC, “On multiple occasions, these managers referred to Bassi as ‘old’ and made other negative comments about her age, including telling her she was exhibiting signs of Alzheimer’s disease.”

Before working at Cover Girls, Bassi had previously worked at Centerfolds, whose main owners — Ali Davari and Hassan Davari – are also the owners of Cover Girls.
