San Antonio City settles lawsuit that accused Police Chief William McManus of sex discrimination

The San Antonio City Council has agreed to settle the sex discrimination lawsuit filed by former deputy police chief Rosemary Flammia.

As part of the settlement, Flammia will receive $249,000 and will be reinstated to her former rank so that she can retire as deputy chief.

Flammia accused Chief William McManus of discriminating against her by passing her up twice for a promotion to the rank of assistant chief and allegedly promoting less-qualified men instead of her.
