St. Louis deputies William “Patrick” Hill and Jacques Hughes were awarded $850,000 for being subjected to a racially hostile work environment at the St. Louis Sheriff’s Department. A jury ruled that Sheriff James Murphy was liable for not ensuring a positive work environment for his employees.
