Former Winthrop University soccer coach lawsuit alleges sex discrimination at Winthrop

Melissa Heinz, the former coach of the Winthrop University women’s soccer team, has filed a discrimination lawsuit against the university.  Heinz alleges that she was subjected to sexual harassment, sex discrimination, and retaliation.

According to her complaint, Winthrop President Anthony DiGiorgio, Athletic Director Tom Hickman and men’s soccer coach Rich Posipanko were all involved in discriminating against Heinz.
