New York Red Cross chapter sued for sexual harassment

Pamela Anderegg, a former employee at the Cayuga County Red Cross office and an ordained United Methodist minister, has filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against the organization.

Anderegg claims that she was sexually harssed numerous times by former Red Cross employee Christopher Malloy, and that Susan Marteney, the former executive director of the Cayuga County chapter, was often present while Anderegg was being harassed.

According to the Post-Standard, “Anderegg said she complained to Marteney many times but said Marteney would usually laugh at Malloy’s sexual innuendos and jokes and did nothing to stop his behavior at work.  In her lawsuit, Anderegg said Malloy made sexual references in front of her all the time, once imitated a female co-worker giving oral sex, talked in graphic terms about pornographic films he watched at home and had affairs with female employees that worked under his supervision.”

The Red Cross denies Anderegg’s allegations.
