Attorney Steven Eggleston has filed a sexual harassment and retaliation lawsuit against Newport Beach, CA law firm Bisnar/Chase LLP. Eggleston claims that the firm’s partners, John Bisnar and Brian Chase, stopped paying him after he refused to attend a personal-development seminar called the “New Warrior Training” which is conducted by an organization called The ManKind Project.
Eggleston alleges that Bisnar pressured him into attending the seminar, explaining that it “would help Eggleston to have closer, stronger, and better relationships with men.”
According to the complaint, “Eggleston kept trying to get more information about the seminar from Bisnar, but Bisnar refused to answer, explaining that the things that took place at the seminar were secret and that men who attended had to take an oath not to reveal to outsiders what took place.”
After searching the internet for information about the seminar, Eggleston discovered alarming details about the program and feared that “he would be stripped naked, not allowed to leave, be required to discuss details of his sex life, handle a wooden dildo, and potentially allow other men to touch his genitals.”
The Orange County Register reports that “the firm stopped paying Eggleston after he expressed his concerns about the outing, and declined to attend, according to the lawsuit.”
Chase told the OC Register, “It is a frivolous lawsuit and a shakedown to get money from me because he failed to bring in cases and failed to settle cases.”
