Walmart agrees to pay $12 Million to settle sex discrimination lawsuit

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has agreed to pay close to $12 million to settle a sex discrimination lawsuit filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

The EEOC had accused the Wal-Mart distribution facility in London, KY of refusing to hire female applicants for certain positions.

Walmart spokesman Greg Rossiter said, “We’re pleased the matter has been resolved.  The claims do not reflect Wal-Mart’s continuing commitment to build an even more inclusive workplace through hiring and training initiatives.”
