An American Legion post in Wheaton, Minnesota, has agreed to pay former bartender Billy Lambert $10,000 after he complained that Cindy Iverson, a female kitchen manager, grabbed his groin and sexually propositioned him.
Lambert complained to his supervisor about the incident, but his claims were not investigated. After developing ulcers and suffering from nightmares and depression for several months following the harassment, Lambert quit his position.
The Minnesota Department of Human Rights said Lambert was sexually harassed and subjected to an offensive and hostile work environment as a result of Iverson’s behavior.
Out of 13,867 sexual harassment complaints submitted to the EEOC in 2008, 15.9 percent were filed by men.
